about

It’s been seven years since The Panacea's last full-length album "Underground Superstardom", but finally, the wait is over with the release of his sixth LP. Titled "Chiropteran", it is as groundbreaking as his previous records with complex song structures and musical variability bringing fans and listeners alike a fresh listen into into the otherworldly dimensions of the teutonic mastermind. This ingenuity has made The Panacea one of the most praised entertainers in today's electronic music-scene and this release, is definitely unlike anything that has been heard in drum & bass thus far.

Throughout "Chiropteran", The Panacea makes a conscious effort to pay homage to the heritage of early nineties rave music. He has created a reduced, straight forward sound that runs through the album like a red thread. The Panacea has taken what appears to be a well-known production method and reinvented it both musically and technically, making the "Chiropteran" a musical symbiosis of not only drum & bass, but dance and brain-dance.

This release also includes collaborations with artists Donny, Lethal, Dean Rodell and Limewax that add to the already colourful tones of the album. Overall "Chiropteran" proves to be more than just another 12" single compilation, but a masterfully put together release that entertains the listener for over 78 minutes.

Over two years in the making it is evident that The Panacea has found a musical language that transcends trends and genres. He has created not only an album for fans and listeners but the "Chiropteran" release could possibly be a timeless piece, a milestone in electronic music.
